@Tami, so there will be a(nother) new Star Wars MMORPG? That’s an interesting piece of news!
A couple of years ago I tried the Sony-infested (“how to kill Everquest in just a few easy steps…”) SW Galaxies. Nice ideas, but in the end: nothing fancy that kept me playing.

Maybe the other MMO whose name you forgot is STAR TREK ONLINE! … Yes, I’ll admit as much nerdiness as is needed to look forward to a Star Trek game

@battlecamel, pen&paper somehow never captured me… i like the digital things somehow a lot more in this case.
From what i have seen so far, there aint a “huge” difference to WoW or EQ or any other MMO except it’s nice, seems like fun and you can fly without a mount – only in certain areas and PvP though.

You have the crafting and harvest system which is pretty much alike to WoW, you quest and kill mobs to level up… basics.

Yes it has been out in Korea for a while, EU and US start with the same version of the game as Korea has right now though.

For me, it’s not a blockbuster type game, more a game to enjoy MMOs again after Vanguard killed it pretty much for me.
Looking forward to Star Wars: The Old Republic a lot too.

And something else was on the horizon as well… err… forgot it’s name though since it is quite a while till that one will be out.

@Panther, Well, ofc it would be EU, i want people to play with that are in my time zone. Not to mention i like my current guild which are the same people i played with in Vanguard + some new ones.

To be honest, I really considered picking up the game (but, as a late adopter, of course without the chance to participate in the head-start period … orz).
However, I fear I’d be spending 40-50 € for a game I’d rarely have the time to play. I do prefer old-school pen&paper versions (ingenious concepts still to be found: http://www.eclipsephase.com) to bit&byte adaptions, anyhow.

I am, of course, expecting a detailed review nevertheless — interested in how AION sets apart from worn mechanics like in WoW or Everquest. And that despite its age — I understand, AION has been around in Korea for quite some time already?

Aw you are playing EU version so we will not meet.

I only managed to play in OBT though, and my impressions were up already. And the graphics are >>> almost all MMO’s in higher def, not to mention same level as GE or almost there.
